
More than 11% of all students experience rape or sexual assault and “only 20% of female students who experience sexual assault report to the authorities because of the fear of disbelief.” Although sexual harassment and sexual assault can happen to anyone, female students are constantly affected disrupting their safety, comfort and equal access to education.
Not many understand how crucial it is to help the victims of sexual misconduct because after the traumatizing event, their lives can change rapidly for them. Harassment and assault can have long lasting physical and psychologically damaging impacts.
